THE ONE THAT

DIDN'T GET AWAY

Mike and I, Anne Wengerd Riffey, have enjoyed a tremendous year in preparation for the 2004 Tournament of Roses Parade.  Mike has been a member of the Tournament of Roses Association for 35 years and is a very good ambassador for the organization.  We have traveled all over the United States and to Mexico to visit the bands that will play in the 2004 Rose Parade, titled Music, Music, Music. Our presence helped raise awareness in the various communities that the bands needed help to get to Pasadena.  I quit working in February so I could travel with Mike to visit all the bands and meet some of the nicest people in the world.

Two major responsibilities of the President are to select the theme and the grand marshall.  The Grand Marshall is John Williams, the acclaimed composer/conductor.
As the "First Lady" I have had various minor duties for the last 7 years leading up to this year of MUCH activity.

We wish you a very Merry Christmas and Happy Holiday Season.  I hope all of you will begin 2004 by watching the Rose Parade.  Mike and I will be Unit #9.  The best channel to watch is HGTV anywhere in the USA or KTLA in So. Cal.  The Rose Parade will also be broadcast on ABC, NBC, CBS.

I wish you all the happiest of New Years and look forward to the 45th reunion in 2005.
